If the EU and other regions of the world restrict modified crops, then why don't we in america?
According to food dialogues these are the TOP 8 Biotech Crops:
-corn
-soy
-alfalfa
-cotton
-squash
-papaya
-sugar beets
-canola
Food dialogues also sates that Food will increase by 70% in 2050. GM seeds allow farmers to produce more in a small region.
"Used to reduce crop loss to insect and plant diseases as well as drought and other environmental conditions."
World expected to grow to 9 million in 2050 and this will effect the space available for growing crops and the lack of natural resources such as water.
Crop land per capita has declined from population growth over taking valuable crop land.
2.47 acres of crop land decreased every 7.67 seconds. 15% lost since 1982 (that is 70 acres)

Fast food industries tend to attract to younger kids because of the toys promoted with their meal. With a healthy side being given with the meal the parents don't tend to think anything of what their child is eating however, that so called "healthy" side isn't always so healthy. it could something such as GMO apples and milk.
With the EU banning GMO's they are banning unhealthy imported crops from other country region. "The roots of European agricultural protectionism stem from the formation of the
European Union itself. After World War II, Robert Schuman and other European
leaders decided that the only way to prevent the outbreak of another war was to
link the European economies together, particularly the French and German
economies. The shared economic interests would prevent the outbreak of
subsequent wars, and therefore lead to increased international interaction
within Europe." says Alexandra Huszagh. Europe insures this system by bringing together all of their economies and prevent other countries from bringing in their seed production.
GMO's relate to chapter 10 of AP Human Geography. We discussed the causes and effect that Commercial and subsistence farming have on the development of GMO's. Commercial farming usually causes more GMO's to occur because of the industries trying to make more products in a quick time span. In Commercial farming there was also a process called just in time delivery allowing only the product amount need each day was delivered. In subsistence farming the plantation process is much slower and gradual. This farming method causes less to nearly no GMO's in food production. These would be on a smaller lot of land and would use shifting Cultivation. this is when farmer slash-and-burn agitation in that area. then they would grow crops on a clear area for only a few years until all the useful soil nutrients have been used up and they rotate their vegetation over while the prior land has the chance to fallow and the soil can recover.
