Car sharing decreases the greenhouse gas emissions in cities which makes it cleaner and friendlier.
When people join car sharing they drive less because they contemplate if it is a necessary trip or not. Right now only 0.27% of Americans are in these car sharing. If polices are put into place the numbers might rise to 4.5%. In a realistic scenario 0.6% of emissions will be decreased. For every one car shared 9-13 are taken off the road.
Once people join car sharing they sell their own cars, so more cars are taken off the road.
250 million cars sit idle 93% of the time. Vechile miles traveled drop by 67% by car sharing members.
