Soon drones will be apart of everyday shipping
Amazon has came up with their future of shipping. Earlier this year they released the concept of using drones to fly packages to the respective owners/buyers. This plan probably will not be executed for 3 or 4 years from now. There are rules and regulations set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), that restrict these crafts to staying below a certain altitude and the public use of these drones.
There are many concepts on how these will operate. Of course they can only carry lightweight objects that can fit in the given container. This does limit the things they can do, but last minute shoppers will gladly use the faster 30 minute shipping service. The prime concept of these is the drone will latch onto a box going down a conveyor belt and then it will take off from the distribution center. It will then use the built in navigation system to go to the designated address and then lands and drops the box off and then takes off.
Another concept of these working is a delivery man would drive a special truck. He would park on a street and the drones with the packages will fly from the truck and deliver packages to houses hundreds of yards away. This will cover the problem of the drones malfunctioning because a specified personnel (driver) will be there to fix the problem.
